Melding: - Melding is taking a combination of cards from your hand and placing it face up in front of you on the table. There are two kinds of combination which can be melded: sequences and groups.

• A sequence or run consists of three or more cards of the same suit in consecutive order, such as club4, club5, club6 or heart8, heart9, heart10, heart J.
• A group, set or book is three or four cards of the same rank, such as diamond7, heart7, spade7.

Laying off: - Laying off is adding a card or cards from your hand to a meld already on the table. The cards added to a meld must make another valid meld.

For example: - the club4, club5, club6 you could add the club3 or the club7. This game does not permit to rearrange the melds in the process. For example: - club2, heart2, diamond2, spade2 and spade3, spade4, spade5 have been melded and you are not permitted to move the spade2 from the group to the sequence, so as to lay off the spade A.

Discarding: - If you want to discard then you can do it by discarding is playing a card from your hand on top of the discard pile. You get rid of one card this way at the end of each turn.

• You should try and get rid of cards with higher points. It will help you to ensure that if an opponent makes a show before you do, your deadwood points are reduced.

• Look out for and gather smart cards as these cards can be easily melded into a run. For example:-7 of any suit can be put together with 5 & 6 of the same suit and can also work with 8 & 9 of the same suit.
• In the game of rummy jokers are important and you need to focus on making the best use of jokers in your game. If you want higher points or want to complete a run the use of joker card is very much important.  Do not use joker in a natural run.
• If you are waiting endlessly for a particular card to meld a run would not be a good thing to do. You need to constantly look at your cards and keep revaluating them so that you are able to make changes.
• While arranging your cards you must do it in such a way that makes it easy to play. You can even alternate the colours. This will clear your confusion when it comes to availing or discarding a card.
• Do not keep cards for too long. If you have high value point’s card then it is important to discard them as soon as possible.
